The Seamaster Calendar ref. 2849-5 SC from 1958 holds a particular place in Omega history as the first waterproof model produced in series to incorporate a calendar. It was also the watch that introduced the Calibre 503, Omega's first full-rotor automatic with a date complication, a significant step forward from the bumper movements that preceded it. The full 360-degree rotor improved winding efficiency and allowed a slimmer movement profile, though Omega made no concessions on the case. Those substantial chamfered lugs, known among collectors as "beefy lugs", give the 34.5mm gold-plated case a commanding wrist presence that the slimmer De Ville lines of the 1960s never quite matched.
The white dial has aged into something that resembles polished marble, warm and distinctly its own. Dauphine indexes and hands are perfectly preserved. The date sits quietly at 3. Original crown intact.
